Friday Five - Maine Style

1. My sister is graduating from Bowdoin tomorrow!!! She even has a double major - Neuroscience and Studio Art. Obviously, that makes her awesome. :-D

2. I'm rooming with my 95-year-old great-grandmother. She's hysterical. Over dinner last night, she eyed my wine glass meaningfully and said slyly, "Now I know how you stay warm in that cabin." Ha! This comes from the woman who is famous for her "wine cookies," a family Christmas treat - famous for partaking of the jug wine the recipe calls for when baking, I mean. :-P

3. The Inn where we're staying is a lot like living history. As the brochure says, it "was built by a Maine family that goes back to 1895. This luxury country inn encompasses two period buildings (1798 & 1850) together with its modern additions (1989 & 1997)."

Basically, it's enough to make me go geeky and wish I'd taken more history classes in college.

4. As far as clothes go, I've been a walking disaster this week.

Tuesday night: Spilled pizza toppings down the top of a brand-new blue shirt, thankfully at home.

Wednesday night: Accidentally put a huge hole in the front of my white cardigan. Then discovered that moths had eaten several holes in my gray cardigan. THEN, when taking a Tide stick to the ink stains on my cream cardigan (which came from uncapped pens on my computer desk - one spot in pink and two in turquoise), I accidentally made the spot bigger. >:-[

Thursday night: Spilled lasagna down the front of a brand-new yellow shirt.

It reminds me a little of 6th grade when I never came home with a clean shirt.

5. Spring has just arrived here, and EVERYTHING is blooming.
