Friday Five - Hello, November!

Is it just me, or is 2010 moving really fast? I almost wrote April 5th as the date yesterday. :-P

1. Sadly, I didn't dress up this year. I did, however, man the candy. Since we're kind of out of the way, we only had two rounds of trick-or-treaters: One was a van-load of 12 or so with a particularly adorable Pippi Longstocking (I always love the literary characters). We gave away chocolate by the handfuls.

Later, my cousins stopped by - a 2.5 year old bumblebee girl and a 9 month old pumpkin boy. We tried to give away a bunch of chocolate to them too, but their parents (ie. my aunt and uncle) were giving us don't-you-dare looks. They were totally cute, but I'm afraid I didn't get any pictures. :-(

2. My editor's birthday was on Monday! And I wished her well! (It was definitely fun to have an editor and know her birthday. Squeee!)

3. I kind of miss ASHLEY IN NEVERLAND. I haven't read it in over a month. I spent several months reading it every day (while revising), and withdrawal has set in. The copyedited ms should come back any day now...

4. I started reading a new book this week! A biography of Catherine the Great, by Virginia Rounding. (I know. It's not middle grade, or even fiction. But I'm trying to expand my reading tastes.)

5. The title ASHLEY IN NEVERLAND has been vetoed. My editor, her assistant, and I are on the hunt for something similar...
