1. I've been back in Charlotte for exactly two weeks, and I've been revising the whole time. Revising in Charlotte is completely different from revising in Montana. I don't ever forget to eat, because my mother calls me down to dinner. Instead of working at the kitchen table in a cabin, where bears wander by more often than my neighbors, I listen to road noise and work at the desk I've had since I was 13 - gilded gold with angel-shaped handles. Rather than getting distracted by the latest episode of SYTYCD, I am interrupted by my mom telling me about what my sister said about her first day of school in Charleston.
2. It took me two late nights, but I finished MOCKINJAY. Gah! It's like being hit over the head. I don't know how I feel about it yet. I'll write a real post when I gather my thoughts together.
3. My birthday is tomorrow. I keep accidentally telling people that I'm turning 25. This is a lie - I'll be 24, but since I'm not a huge fan of even numbers, I keep trying to skip that year entirely.
4. My two-year-old laptop's harddrive crashed on Tuesday. It wouldn't even turn ON. To fix it, the Apple Store took it away for about a week. Very sad. Very sudden. Very unhelpful, considering that my revision deadline is on August 30.
Luckily, I'm in a house with extra computers. Including the laptop that survived my college years.
It's a little beat up (my brother dented the corner, but I dyed the disk drive orange). But it still runs.
(Don't worry. I'm backing up my files like whoa.)
5. I'm really looking forward to turning in this revision on Monday, because I have a beautiful stack of books waiting for me.
Happy Weekend!
